The 1988 24 Hours of Le Mans saw Jaguar win the World famous race with an entry of five XJR-9LM cars. The winning car, driven by Jan Lammers, Johnny Dumfries and Andy Wallace, completed 394 laps and covered a distance of 3313 (5332.79km).
The XJR-9 was manufactured by Tom Walkinshaw Racing (TWR) and featured a 7.0-liter V12 capable of producing 750 bhp, it was this power unit which drove the XJR9-LM. Five cars equipped with this unit were prepared for Le Mans to take on the might of the factory-backed Porsche 962C. The Jaguars led from the start of the race, but two retirements meant only the Jan Lammers, Johnny Dumfries and Andy Wallace car remained to take overall honors. Late in the race the car developed a transmission problem meaning it could only be driven in fourth gear, even so it still managed to finish two laps ahead of their main rivals - the Porsche 962C.
This will be a full detailed build depicting the winning No. 2 car driven by Jan Lammers, Johnny Dumfries and Andy Wallace. The offside door will open and the front cowling will have an opening cover to show the suspension assembly.
