The British American Racing Team suffered a dismal start to their F1 career in 1999 with the BAR 001 car, they did not win a single championship point the entire season mainly due to the fact that they were plagued with reliability and component failures. The team stopped development on the car as early as the 5th race of season and focused all their efforts on the 2000 car. For 2000 they introduced the BAR 002 car. It was driven by the 1997 World Champion Jacques Villeneuve, and Brazilian Ricardo Zonta, both drivers had agreed to stay with the team despite their poor showing the season before.
The 002 car proved to be reliable after the 1999 disaster. Villeneuve performing the better of the two drivers and scored seven points finishes, whilst Zonta backed him up with three. Villeneuve in particular had driven some strong races almost getting on to the podium on a number of occasions. However, Ricardo Zonta was dropped at the end of the year after Villeneuve very publicily critised his team mate following a coming together between the two drivers. Zonta was to make way for Olivier Panis, who had spent the season as McLaren's test driver.
The build of the 002 car is going to be a quick OOB build whilst I'm waiting for further parts to be delivered to complete the Peugeot 307 WRC car. The kit is manufactured by the Japanese company Studio 27 and as such is a resin multi media kit, curbside with no engine details. No extra details were added apart from seat belts. Having completed the kit it seems there are number of decals missing from the kit compared to the actual car.
